The Dragon Child is an adventure/fantasy tale following Dragon, who is a half human and half dragon, born from an ancient magic brought forth by his parents' love. His father is human, and his dragon mother is the queen of the dragon empire. When they pass, Dragon inherits the throne, as well as a world full of troubles.
Dragon's world is turned upside down as he travels with a small band of companions and he finds himself fighting battles that he does not want to be a part of. When everything around him falls apart, he is torn inside by his race and identity. He is not sure whether he should save the humans or save the dragons. As he is forced to make choices, Dragon learns about himself and the races that he is a part of, and in doing so, he becomes who he has always been destined by the Creator to be.

This was a pretty good read! It was wonderful to read a story with faith-based lessons in it but that still had a real depth to it. The emotional path that Dragon follows is both intriguing and comes across as very genuine. The mythos of the world that Dragon lives in seems pretty well laid out, which is great as that is usually a pet peeve of mine. =P It was a fun read, and I really enjoyed how the magical world coexisted with a biblical world. I'm excited to see where the series goes and to see how the style and the voice of the books develops since this is the first book that the author has published. It seems like it takes an author a book or two before they really settle in. I also hope that future books include maps of some of the locations and lands since that helps to put the world in perspective (and not because I'm a bit of a book nerd).Product details

I loved it & couldn't put it down! The characters were very interesting and well written. It will be fun to see what happens in the next book of the series.
I didn't really get interested in this book at first because I thought it was going to be quite different than the books I am normally into. But once I started reading I could not put it down. As you follow Dragon on his quest I found myself wishing I was really there and fighting along side him. I wanted to keep reading but the book came to an end. Now just waiting for the second. If you want an amazing read that is not in your norm then this is definitely the book for you. I can not wait for the rest to come.
